FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How do I make an enquiry?
In the first instance, fill out the enquiry form or e-mail us with your vacation ideas, maybe what’s on your bucket-list and some background on you and your group. We always keen to know about your interests and hobbies as that enables us to come up with recommendations on to the best historic homes and hosts that may appeal to you.
Can I call you?
Certainly; we offer a call-back facility when you can select the best time for us to call you. We recommend an initial call to introduce ourselves and to discuss designing your trip.
Are all your venues listed on the website?
The experiences shown on our website are there to inspire you. We have a wider portfolio of experiences which include the historic homes of
- Haute couture designers
- Contemporary Irish artists
- Renowned political leaders
- Artisan food and drink producers
When you start a conversation with you, we work with you to design trips that really appeal to your interests.
What information do I need to provide initially?
When you’re planning to travel, the number of people in your group and some background on your interests and hobbies.
What about solo travellers or individual couples?
We are happy to design trips for couples and/or solo travellers though naturally the trip price will reflect the exclusivity of your trip for you.
Where we have solo travellers and/or couples who wish to join a small group of likeminded guests, we can see about the feasibility of a trip that brings together such a group.
How about children? Are there special rates for children?
Children are welcome. From our experience, the trips really appeal to older children. We are always happy to suggest activities to engage younger children on these private visits. We are happy to consider reduced rates for children depending on numbers and any special activities for them.
How long are your trips?
We specialise in customised day trips. However, if you have limited time, we can also design half day trips.
Can we do a multi-day trip or a full vacation plan?
Certainly. All our trips are custom-designed and we can work with us to design a trip over a number of days that includes some of our unique private venues, signature experiences, dining options and our recommended accommodation options.
What is the minimum-maximun group size?
From our experience, groups of 6-10 guests are ideal as everyone has a more personal interaction with our hosts.
However, some of our hosts welcome larger groups. When you make an initial enquiry, we can make recommendations based on your group size, interests and time of the year.
We include chauffeur/executive mini coach transport in our trips.
However, if you have made alternative arrangements, plan to hire your own chauffeur and/or hire your own transport, we can work with you on a mutually convenient meeting point.
Can we book accommodations through you?
Yes, indeed. We have preferred accommodations that have been personally vetted by us. We also work with us on any accommodations that you have researched online whether these are luxury hotels or more intimate boutique accommodations.
What about Dietary Requirements?
Hospitality is always included in our private visits. In advance, please do let us know of any special dietary requirements including allergies so that the menu can be designed accordingly.
Is photography and videography allowed at these homes?
Generally, photography and videography is not permitted inside the venues for privacy and insurance reasons. Each of our home owners are keen that you leave with great memories of your visit so we will brief you beforehand on where photography and videography is welcomed.
How accessible are the private homes?
You will need a reasonable level of mobility, especially on our private castle visits. Most trips also include garden walks and some standing so it is important that each guest has reasonable mobility to really enjoy the trip.
Are the venues wheelchair accessible?
The ground floors of our manor homes are generally accessible by wheelchair (with assistance). Medieval castles are generally not accessible for wheelchairs users. When making an enquiry, we can always suggest venues that are more accommodating to wheelchairs users.
Is there a Dress Code when visiting these private historic homes?
We recommend smart, casual attire and comfortable walking shoes. A rain jacket is always useful to have at hand in case of those usual Irish rain showers!.
What are the usual inclusions?
Each trip includes one of our tour directors who will meet you at an agreed meeting point for a welcome briefing.
Executive transport is included, unless we have agreed other arrangements with you.
On each private visit, hospitality is included: morning coffee, lunch, afternoon tea or dinner with our hosts.
Drinks are also included and usually include locally produced specialities.
On your customised itinerary, we will confirm all the inclusions as well as exclusions.
